Player Form Guide: Looking Beyond the Averages

A batting average of 50 looks impressive, but does it tell the whole story? In modern cricket analytics, form is measured by consistency, impact, and adaptability, not just the volume of runs.

Control Percentage

One of the best indicators of form is 'Control Percentage'. A batter might score a lucky 50 containing many edges and misses, while another might score a fluent 30. The latter is often in better touch.

Matchups and Entry Points

In T20 cricket, *when* a player comes to bat is as important as *how* they bat. An anchor coming in at the death is less valuable than a power-hitter. We analyze form based on role-specific metrics.

Recency Bias vs Class

Form is temporary, class is permanent. But how long do you back a class player? Our models suggest a rolling average of the last 10 innings gives the most predictive value for short-format success.
